Lancaster Visiting & Getting Visitors

#66 C Tyler Lancaster

Tyler Lancaster, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound center from Plainfield (Ill.) East is considered one of the top prospects in the Land of Lincoln. The 2013 graduate says he's hearing from several schools and has visited a couple of Big Ten schools twice.

"Tyler Lancaster is without question, a major Div. 1 center in my opinion," said Bengals head coach Mike Romeli. "Tyler is everything you want from a center. He's smart and makes all of our line calls. He's strong, has great hands and he's athletic enough to trap, pull and get to the 2nd level."

Lancaster an all-area and all-conference selection in 2011 is everything he's built up to be. He reminds me a lot of former Wheaton-Warrenville South and current Indiana center Will Matte.

Watch Tyler on film and you can see that he has a real feel and understanding of the position. He works his feet well; he's agile and also does a terrific job at working his hips and sealing off defenders.

Which schools have been recruiting Tyler Lancaster the hardest?

"I've been to Indiana and Northwestern twice so far," said Lancaster. "I don't have an offer yet but I'm hoping to get my first one soon. Northwestern is probably recruiting me the hardest. I'm hearing from their coaches the most.

"Coach (Adam) Scheier from Bowling Green was actually in our school the other day watching me work out. I'm also hearing from Northern Illinois and a bunch of other schools through Facebook and e-mail."
