2014 Intro: Taylor Johnson

Wheaton Academy (Ill.) is home to a 6'6, 270-lb junior offensive tackle prospect named Taylor Johnson who seems destined to draw college attention his way.

Taylor Johnson, a 6'6, 270-lb lineman from Wheaton Academy was named to the NCSA/Tom Lemming All-Area team this year, and has the size colleges look for.

"It went good," he said of his season. "I learned a lot. I improved, I'm working to improve on football and my junior year really helped. I played both ways, played usually more offense than defense."

On the offensive line, Johnson was a left tackle, and his frame and ability will likely keep him as a tackle in college. He says he has not been to any college camps yet, but will do that this offseason and there is one school he likes early on.

"I've been watching Wisconsin a lot," he said.

Improving more in the off-season is a big focus for Johnson, and hence, he will concentrate solely on football.

"I did play baseball, but I'm not going to play that this year. I'm going to stay with football and keep lifting in the off-season. I did play baseball for two years though."

And although he has shown defensive ability as well, he knows where he'd like to end up at the next level.

"I do like offense better."
