The first offer is in for Jacksonville (Ill.) junior tight end Blake Hance -- from N.C. State.
"Today Coach Grounds my head coach called me down to his office and said that Coach Uremovich from North Carolina State wanted to see me," Hance said. "There he said he wanted to offer me a scholarship."
He added, "I couldn't have been more excited."
Hance knew that getting the first offer, was a moment that he won't soon forget.
"It was awesome," Hance recalled of receiving the offer. "It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders."
He continued, "Sometimes I am impatient, so I was very anxious to get my first offer."
Admittedly, because N.C. State is outside of the Midwest, Hance has some learning to do about the Wolfpack -- something he is excited to do.
"I don't know too much right now about N.C. State's offense," Hance said. "I do know that I definitely like most of their coaching staff because I built a good relationship with them at Northern Illinois before they left."
And as for a potential trip to Raleigh?
"My parents and I will definitely be getting out there sometime soon after basketball to learn more about them," Hance said.
Hance stands 6-foot-6, 260 pounds and has been getting interest at the tight end position as well as an offensive lineman.
"N.C. State says they like as a tight end and an offensive tackle so it's just whatever they want," Hance said.
As for other schools that Hance has heard from, they include Northwestern, Oklahoma, Illinois, Michigan State and plenty of others.
"Indiana was in school last Friday," Hance said. "I am still staying in contact with a lot of schools though."
