Brandon Pullman of Rock Island had one of the best years any senior could have last year. Pullman played alongside star guard Chasson Randle and told us last night about where he’ll be continuing his career after high school. Get inside for more details.

Class of 2009 graduate Brandon Pullman was one of the best kept secrets in the state last year. He averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds per game. He informed IllinoisHSPreps.com that he’ll be heading to Kirkwood Junior College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

“They have a really good program and they have done really well in the national tournament lately,” Pullman said. “The junior college route is not so bad for me. “I wish I had one more year of high school. It was great. I would work harder in all aspects of my life, classroom and on the court.”

Pullman stated he had a lot of schools looking at him towards the end of the year, including Iowa State, Iowa, UNI, Indiana State, and WIU.

“I don’t have a favorite,” Pullman indicated. “But I like Iowa State. One of their assistant coaches (Daniel Robinson) used to coach here at Rocky.”

He promised the people that have followed his career that he will be back and playing where he should be. Pullman was also able to play against the state’s top player in Jereme Richmond, who will be playing college basketball at Illinois in 2010.

“He was the toughest player I faced all season long,” Pullman acknowledged. “He will do well at Illinois when he goes there.”
